Amsterdam

Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands. For many years it has been host to tourists from all over the world. The city also has many museums, and is home to several cultural highlights, such as the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and the Anne Frank House. Amsterdam also has a lot of shopping streets, there are the Kalverstraat, Leidsestraat and the P.C. Hoofdstraat. These are the big streets, which almost everybody knows about. But Amsterdam has a lot more to offer, it has many small streets where, if you don’t look out, you can lose yourself completely. The city is beautiful, this because it’s a mix of modern and classical architecture. There are these big canal buildings which descend from the 17th century.

Amsterdam is known by very many people as the red light district. Most people have heard of this area. The area is one of the oldest parts of Amsterdam. The red light district also is one of the most visited highlights in the country. For the people who don’t know what the red light district is, I will give an short explanation: this is the place where people come to go to the prostitutes, sex shops and coffee shops. But the red light district is one of the most beautiful places in Amsterdam, the 14th century architecture makes it stand out. It is definitely worth a visit.

If you pay a visit to Amsterdam, there are a few places you have to see:

The Madame Tussauds, this is a museum where famous people are made into waxen figures.

The Amsterdam Dungeon: this is a place for terror and excitement, if you aren’t afraid of anything, this is the place for you. It’s a haunted house where actors give shows about the history of Amsterdam. Every show is different, because you are part of the experience. It’s not only scary, it’s also funny.

Het Vondelpark is one of the most beautiful parks in the Netherlands, this place is peace and quiet. It’s a place of serenity between the busy streets of Amsterdam.
